This IS a fabulous antique sterling silver clothes brush. The frame is covered with repousse flowers of all sorts. The natural bristles are set into a wood base. The bristles are in excellent condition with VERY minor loss.
The brush appears to have been made in Birmingham, England. The markings are: "F" then a smudge; an anchor; an Old English "G", dating it to 1830-1831; STERLING. On the other end is the number "410" and a symbol that I can't make out.
It is an impressive 8" long x 2 3/4" wide x 2 1/4" tall. It would make an outstanding gift for the man or the woman who has everything!
