This is an early twentieth century Cluny lace centerpiece. The closeup will show "the characteristic design of radiating wheatears and plaited border", as described in The identification of Lace by Pat Earnshaw. It is made of ecru linen thread and is in wonderful vintage condition. There is one small area of age spot. It appears to have never been used. The piece is 24" in diameter. I have a matching set of 8 round place mats that I will be listing, as well.
